Katanox is looking for a Risk & Compliance Officer to manage/ control the financial, compliance and credit risk exposure of merchants as well as those risks associated with the company’s global payments services operations; compliance issues exist in the regulatory environment (KYC, AML, Sanctions, etc.), and the non-regulatory environment, specifically, those compliance obligations the company faces relating to card scheme rules, PCI DSS, and acquiring bank governance.

The main purposes of this role are to (1) provide thought leadership in the arena of regulatory and non-regulatory compliance management; (2) manage the Katanox Fintech Compliance & Risk Program; (3) maintain effective relationship management with external compliance stakeholders (regulators, acquiring partners, and industry entities); (4) provide expert advice to the CFRO, the Katanox Fintech Managing Board, and other internal stakeholders (i.e. Supervisory Board). The role holder is part of the second line and headed by the CFRO.

We are looking for an autonomous person and who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in a high-growth environment, and solving problems with limited oversight.

About the role

Maintain oversight and forward planning of changes in the regulatory compliance environment across the company’s international footprint
Remain the company point of contact and action owner for all regulatory, licensing, KYC, AML, etc. issues (ongoing engagement with the Dutch Central Bank and FIU)
Manage the ongoing compliance training and awareness of all Katanox Fintech staff
Maintain the company policy program, ensuring all applicable policies are documented, current, accurate, appropriate, and embedded in the organization
Perform risk analysis on the compliance and reputational risks associated with contractual relations Katanox Fintech has with card acquirers, payment product suppliers, and new business/client/merchant relationships
Ensure the merchant due diligence program meets the obligations imposed by the card schemes, regulatory entities, and Katanox Fintech’s acquiring partners
Advise the CFRO and other departments on execution/ improvement of controls in the internal and internal compliance environment
Provide expert compliance advice and oversight to the risk investigations team in the conduct of ongoing monitoring of the merchant portfolio in consideration of scheme programs governing IP Infringement, aggregation, area of use, copyright protection, etc.

About you

Compliance certifications preferred
5 or more years experience in compliance. Experience in the payments or eCommerce industry is strongly preferred
Consistent attention to details / Accuracy and Risk / business economic affinity
Strong stakeholder management skills (internal & external) and problem analysis and Solving skills
Advanced degree in law, business, or applicable field of study
Fluent in Dutch and English
